  • Alert: This is just a reminder that if your child's end of the day routine is to change, that we need for you to contact the school no later than 2:00PM as we have several students that have changes and we need to make certain that no student is forgotten. If your child will be going with someone other than you, we need for you to either contact the school or send a note. We do realize that there are emergencies that occur and those later calls are understandable.
  • Alert: Call Ins for dismissal MUST be received before 2:00PM. We are receiving an abundance of calls after this time making it difficult to notify all teachers and students of the change to safely and effectively dismiss students. CALL INS AFTER 2:00PM WILL NOT BE ACCOMMODATED. Thank you, Ms. Leslie Henry
  • Alert: We are now in the flu season. We have a couple reminders for you - make sure your child is fever free without medication for 24 hours before sending them back to school. Please make sure they haven't been vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours also. Please check your child each morning. Thank you..
  • Alert:

Teachers are working to connect with each family this week and in the coming weeks during our school closure. We will be reaching out to you by phone, email, DOJO and Remind app. Please keep an eye on these communication resources as well as the Vinton PTO page, School Pointe app and Gallia Local web page www.gallialocal.org

Elementary Principal/Director of Testing

Welcome to Vinton Elementary!

A new school year brings many opportunities, changes and challenges, but nonetheless, EXCITEMENT!  We are looking forward to new learning opportunities for growing and learning together as a school community!  Vinton Elementary has a student population of approximately 390 PreK-5th graders and counting!  Our teachers and classrooms are equipped with the knowledge and tools to provide a top notch education inclusive of technologies to keep up with the ever changing advancements in this area.  We have one to one Chromebook devices in grades K-5 and TeachSmart technology in PreK.  We have various online programming including Renaissance, Study Island, ALEKS, Reading Eggs and Math Seeds to name a few.  We also offer up to date curriculum resources that are aligned directly to our state standards.

Vinton Elementary has an AMAZING teaching staff that are highly trained and motivated to meet the academic and social emotional needs of each child.  Our support staff compliments to provide additional supports to our students, school and community.

We are continuing our Leader in Me initiative.  This framework helps teach 21st century leadership and life skills to students and will help create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.  Areas of emphasis include LEADERSHIP, RESPONSIBILITY, COMMUNICATION, INITIATIVE, SELF DIRECTION, and TEAMWORK!!  We are SO excited to see our students LEAD and SUCCEED!!

I invite you to come partner with us by joining our PTO, attending special events and volunteering in our school!  I look forward to working with you this school year.  Keep in touch and share any ideas, questions or concerns you may have.  We look forward to having you as part of our TEAM!!
