I am extremely honored to serve as Superintendent of the Gallia Co. local Schools. I know this district has a heart for kids, and desires to see our students experience success. That too, is my goal. With this in mind, I’m confident, the 2021-22 school year will be very rewarding for our students. First and foremost, our staff is committed to ensuring the safety of our students. As we continue to navigate our way through this pandemic, we will continue to listen to the guidance of our health experts and incorporate safety precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our goal is to offer in-person learning five days per week for the entire school year. We believe students learn best when provided instruction in a face to face setting.
From an academic standpoint, our staff is excited about helping all students experience growth as they reach new achievement levels. Over the past year, our staff has spent countless hours preparing to deliver reading instruction with a slightly different approach. This approach is known as “The Science of Reading”. We believe this new reading focus will make a huge impact in our students’ reading achievement throughout the years.
There has been a big turn over in our staff this year. We have 22 new teaching staff members who are very excited to begin their work in the Gallia Co. Local Schools. Some of these new hires will be new faces within our extracurricular activities as well. We are definitely in a period of exciting change for the district and I feel blessed to be part of this great district.
