| The Treasurer’s Office oversees the financial operations of the district. The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer and reports directly to the Board of Education. The district has an annual budget of over $28 million dollars, approximately $3 million dollars in grants and more than 300 employees in the district.
Responsibility of the department is for all accounting, payroll and financial reporting requirements of the District and the Ohio Department of Education.
An annual budget is prepared and approve by the Budget Commission each year. Copies of the District’s budget are available to the general public. The Treasurer also serves as the Secretary to the Board of Education and in this role all contracts, documents and official minutes of all Board meetings are kept for safekeeping. The minute records for the Gallia County Schools since 1946 are kept in the office of the Treasurer and are also available to the public by appointment.
